PUTTING QMS ACTIVITIES INTO ACTION FOR ISO-9001: 2015 QUALITY MANUAL

Compostela Valley State College (CVSC) conducted a 3-day review of institution’s Quality Management System (QMS) for ISO-9001: 2015 Quality Manual. The Quality Manual demonstrates the commitment to meeting stakeholders’ expectations in delivering quality services.
Way back in December 28, 2019, CVSC already received a recognition for ISO-9001:2015 Certification and passed an in-depth set of assessments covering basic undergraduate studies, research and extension, student and support services. However, as what the College President Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera highlighted that this doesn’t guarantee for being proficient in all aspects of Quality Management as it needs continual surveillance and modification.
With this, the Planning and Quality Assurance Office headed by Ms. Janice C. Hermosilla, Quality Management Coordinator, facilitated QMS activities to provide wide range of information for implementing and improving QMS. More specifically, from May 28-29 and June 1, ISO team and process owners administered a review of Management System (MSP), System Controls Procedure (SCP) and Documented Processes Manual (DPM).
Similar to the mentioned activity above, the SWOT Analysis tool was also used to provide a ‘menu’ of options for the college to consider and to create a customized QMS designed to support CVSC’s strategic direction and quality objectives. This was managed last June 2 and was attended by ISO team, process owners, student and faculty representatives, and heads of from all campuses. Now, this reflects the approach taken to address tackling issues and concerns relative to the institution’s overall operations.
Dr. Ganiera has once again challenged the team for improving its system on a continual basis of development of CVSC’s quality standards.
