Compostela Valley State College (CVSC) held another milestone with a recognition event entitled, “PASASALAMAT: Tribute to the 1st CVSC Topnotchers and Passers of September BLEPT 2018” last December 20, 2018 at CVSC MAIN Campus.
The College President Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera together with Cong. Maria Carmen “Maricar” S. Zamora, Dr. Raul C. Alvarez of CHED XI and Dr. Robert M. Gomez, Director for Instruction led the said affair as they have expressed their gladness and gratitude in making the young institution sore high among the other well-known and prestigious universities in the Philippines.
With its five years of infant existence as a state college, it is worth mentioning that the institution has achieved a lot. University of the Philippines-Diliman placed as TOP 1, Ateneo de Davao University in TOP 2 and as CVSC got an average of 93.10%, CVSC ranked as TOP 3 in Top Performing Schools (Secondary Level).
It was from Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in Mathematics who took the spotlight, Adelfa C. Lavilla from Maragusan Campus ranked as TOP 3 in the examination with an average of 92.40. At close with just 0.2 percentage points difference is Jorem E. Prince Verola from Compostela Main Campus ranked as TOP 4 who got an average of 92.20. Sharing 8th place on the top, Michael C. Morre Jr. also from Compostela Main Campus and Jayson Kitts C. Poquita from Maragusan Campus garnered an average of 91.40.
On the other hand, passers and topnotchers in BLEPT Examination will have more reasons to celebrate since Cong. Maricar has promised the cash incentives that they will be receiving. Topnotchers from Top 1-3 will have P300, 000, while Top 4-6 will get P200, 000 and the Top 7-10 will be having P100, 000. Of course, all passer will receive P20, 000 each.
“It is very overwhelming to know that our College in five years in a row has achieved a lot. Next examination, let’s all claim it to have a TOP 1!” Dr. Ganiera exclaimed after expressing her emotion when she first heard the good news of our successful outcome way back in December 7, 2019. She also encouraged the pioneers to always make CVSC proud as they proceed in the world of teaching and this is how happy she was in her pride as the College President of the institution.
In her address, Cong. Maricar, The Mother of CVSC, congratulated the passers and topnotchers. She expressed her gratitude for being the mother of this ‘infant yet promising’ institution and for being part of this one-day affair –a celebration of victory for all the efforts and sacrifices of the newly licensed teachers with the help of the institution and most especially their parents.
“Today, my heart is full; just like any mother whose children became successful…my heart is full. You are all my ‘special children’,” she added.
Also, Dr. Alvarez said in his message, “You are expected to produce great students that are greater than you are. You have to be accountable for their dreams and give your best, that is the only way to make real education realized,” Dr. Alvarez underscored after explaining to the passers how the newly-passed teachers must make a change in the education system as the pioneer graduates of CVSC.
Also present during the event were Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Member Nena Atamosa, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Mayrel Bangcasan of Compostela, Faculty and staff, and
With this achievement, we will look forward to see CVSC in the future to be listed as one of the country’s top teacher education institutions and a center of excellence with all its programs.
