Two CVSC students emerge victorious in Philippine Statistic Quiz in celebration of 29th National Statistics Month conducted by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) held at Prosperity Hall, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province last October 11, 2018.
With the theme “Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics towards Sustainable Tourism Development”, CVSC students from the Main Campus Cheney Morre (Champion) and Hermie Joy Sanchez (2ND runner-up) bested other students from different schools in ComVal Province including Assumption College of Nabunturan (ACN) and University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP)-Mabini Campus.
The CVSC team is composed of the following: Cheney Morre and Hermie Joy Sanchez (CVSC Main Campus); Hannah Mae Lausa and Shelly April Decenilla (New Bataan Campus); and Rubelyn Bulaquina and Ramel Basister Jr. (Maragusan Campus).
When asked how they win, Morre answered, “I think that one of the main drivers of our victory was our preparations. We told ourselves that the main reason we were doing this was not because we wanted to win but because we wanted to make CVSC proud.”
“It was an incredible opportunity to represent our institution and we are so happy to bring honor to CVSC – especially to our coaches who have taught us so well,” Sanchez said.
The team was guided by their coaches Eugine Dodongan (Main Campus), Maria Teresita Baliga (Main Campus), Rona Apolinario (New Bataan Campus), and Rholey Picaza (Maragusan Campus).
Aside from Quiz bee, the said affair also includes Poster Making and Essay Writing Contest for Senior High School students in the province.
