CVSC initiates Drug Awareness, Traffic Rules Seminar

In order to battle some of the most pressing issues that pervade the nation, Compostela Valley State College held a one-day Drug Awareness Symposium and Traffic Rules, Regulations, and Sanctions Orientation attended by its students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel last April 18, 2018 at the Compostela Municipal Gymnasium.
The College tabbed experts from across the province to bolster the success and effectiveness of the event.
Among the speakers were Agent Hazel Mandanao from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-ComVal, SPO2 Delwin Ho of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Compostela, SPO3 Nelson Dano of the ComVal Highway Patrol Group (HPG), and PSUPT Pablito Odias of PNP Compostela.
Spearheaded by the Office of Student Affairs Services, the said activity aimed to educate CVSCians about the dangers and pitfalls of drug abuse which has been proven to change lives for the worst. Also, the College’s thrust for institutionalizing a college-wide traffic guidelines requires that its stakeholders are well oriented about traffic regulations especially concerning the school and the community.
PSupt Dano, in his lecture, emphasized the importance of following traffic rules as it will be beneficial in one’s role as a citizen.
Ms. Mary Dane Remulta, OSAS Head, expressed her gratitude to the representatives from PDEA, PNP, and HPG for their unbridled support in providing education to CVSCians about the aforementioned societal issues.
