In its proactive approach towards tackling the pressing issues of its community, Compostela Valley State College spearheaded the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) Board Advisers together with three other prominent representatives from the local community held last April 2, 2018 at the CVSC grounds.
CVSC forged the MOA jointly with the Philippine National Police, the Barangay Poblacion officials, and members of the local Interfaith Sector.
The said board of advisers is composed of CVSC College President Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera (President), Compostela Chief of Police PSupt Pablito G Odias (Vice President), Brgy. Captain Hon. Godfrey Musong (Member), Interfaith Sector Representative Ptr. Julius M. Conejos (Member), and Compostela Student Council Adviser Mr. Johairey Demapinto (Member).
The said MOA aims to lay down an efficient and working guideline in preventing and combating crimes and other related matters concerning the College, its stakeholders, and the local community.
Dr. Ganiera, meanwhile, expressed her elation with the MOA signing as it beckons the dawn of a well-organized cooperation among the different sectors in the locality while also ensuring the full support of the College in the efforts to curb crime.
PSupt Odias also shared his and the Compostela PNP’s 100% backing of this initiative which will greatly help in battling crime and other criminal intentions which might cause harm to the students and the local residents.
