Compostela – Various food stalls recently cropped up inside the Compostela Valley State College main campus as 70 fourth year students from the College of Business Education commenced their businesses catering to the denizens CVSC last February 5, 2018.
As part of their practicum for the Business Implementation II course, most of the future entrepreneurs taking up Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship set up shop inside the campus, right next to the basketball court where other students and members of the teaching and non-teaching personnel of the College have easy access to.
Eight groups, all offering different snacks and food choices, are located inside the CVSC premises, namely: B’Like, Streetbites, Camayan Barbeque, Jerso Snack House, Pastilan Kalami, Sweet Smidgets, Crispy Sarap, and Nutri Dessert. Meanwhile, four groups ventured outside the campus, namely: RJD’s Fish Retailer, Aqua Pets, Bugasan ni Minggay, and Isdaan ni Moning.
The said endeavor, spanning three months from February 5 to March 5, 2018, is the culmination of all the theories and practices that the students have learned throughout their stay in the College. Furthermore, it also lets them experience the challenges of putting up a business first-hand.
In an interview, COBE Dean Girly C. Lumsod, CPA stressed that the business implementation is the students’ “execution of their business concepts to reality” where they will inevitably face struggles and challenges along the way. Nonetheless, she expressed that she is really proud of the passion and work ethic shown by the students.
