After failing to secure a single gold medal in last year’s iteration of the competition, Compostela Valley State College finally snagged the coveted hardware courtesy of a scintillating performance by the live band during the second day of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) XI Regional Culture and Arts Competition.

Led by coach Jonell Palanas, the CVSC band rocked their rendition of Tayo na sa ComVal and Tayo’y mga Pinoy which captured the hearts of spectators and mesmerized the panel of judges. Members of the band were Juvy Jane Arado, Earl Lawrence Adante, Adam Gray Navarre, John Lloyd Plusan, Jenivie Lino, Kerr Jhon Generoso, and Alex Lagare.

Meanwhile, CVSC also bagged runner-up finishes in eight other events, highlighting the drastic improvement of the contingent from a year ago.

Among the silver medalists for individual and pair events were Given Mark Inansugan (Essay Writing), Jay Ann Habla (Poster Making), Jomarie Requiso (Pencil Drawing), Geber Mae Abarca (Vocal Solo Kundiman), and Ryan Suico and Jeveel Ganas (Vocal Duet).
