When beginners compete, the common assumption of its success lies in its ability to put a ‘respectable’ fight.

Participating in the 8th Council of Deans for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry Education (CDAFFE) Convention held at Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST) in Mati City last November 24-26, 2016, Compostela Valley State College shattered even the most optimistic projections as they dominated the competition during the three-day academic and hands`-on fest.

CVSC bested eight other schools which took part in the CDAFFE tilts as they were crowned Overall Champions in the Technical Events and 1st Runner-up in the General Event.

The list of winners in the Technical Events include: Joan Adlaon for Live Weight Estimation (1st place); Hilario Casol, Jr. for Feed Ingredient Identification (1st place); Loure Jane Tuba for Weeds Identification (1st place); John Dejay Ganad for Fertilizer Computation (1st place); John Rey Mepranum, Ganad, Jan Nicole Alfaro, and John Jay Daanoy for Quiz Bowl (1st place); Daanoy for Budding (2nd place); Carl Lewis Aventurado for Fertilizer Identification (2nd place); Jay Ducante for Seeds Identification (2nd place); Jenisa Condiong for Disease Identification (3rd place); Joan Aggasid for Insect Identification (3rd place); Kevin Pilotos for Grafting (4th place); and rounding out the haul is Jeanamie Sanchez for Feed Formulation (4thplace).
