Civil Service Commission Region XI awarded Compostela Valley State College’s president Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera with the Pag-asa Award during the Regional Recognition and Awards Rites of the 2016 Outstanding Public Officials and Employees held last September 30, 2016 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel, Davao City. The said activity, themed PRIME-HRM: Agencies Meeting HRM Maturity Level II, recognizes exemplary contributions of public officials and employees in the region based on criteria such as Noteworthiness of Outstanding Performance/Contribution/s, Impact of Performance/Achievement, Reliability and Effectiveness, Consistency of Performance, and others. Pres. Ganiera’s Pag-asa Award, conferred on an individual or group of individuals for outstanding contribution/s resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefit more than one department of the government, was in acknowledgement of her impeccable leadership in guiding Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology (KCAST), where she served as president before being appointed to CVSC, to be Commission on Higher Education accredited level I, the first Local College to be conferred such level in the region. Among the other recognized institutions and awardees were Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon; Aida L. Maniego, ALS Mobile Teacher from DepEd Davao Occidental; Public Employment Office (PESO) of Tagum City; and The Verdant Movers, Bala Elementary School from DepEd Davao del Sur. Meanwhile, 2015 Presidential Lingkod Bayan Awardee Cecilia Vidoy, a SPED Teacher I from DepEd Mati City, served as the Guest Speaker and stressed the critical role of public servants in helping build the nation.
