In celebration of the 68th Araw ng Compostela themed as “Compostela: Soaring High with Great Pride” and the 10th Buganihan Festival, Compostela Valley State College strut its wares in the Zumba Riot competition held at the open municipal stage this morning.
Headed by Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Roque Langcoy II, college registrar Merla Getubig, and Human Resources Office head Janice Hermocilla, selected members of the teaching and non-teaching personnel grooved to the blood-pumping beats that kicked off the foundation celebration of the oldest municipality in the province of Compostela Valley.
The said event was participated by four groups, CVSC Zumbalicious took the stage as the opening salvo, followed by Zumbanihan representing Compostela National High School, then Zumba People composed of personnel of Compostela Elementary School, Council of Women, and Brgy. Poblacion, and finally Zumbanatics, a group of Zumba enthusiasts based in the municipality.
Zumba Riot was pegged as the opening act of the three-day event which will be concluded on Sunday, July 31. Among the highlights of the celebration are the Bb. Compostela, Jobs Fair, Youth Day, Sadsad Kadalanan Street Dance competition and Educators’ Night, among others.
