RUBBING ELBOWS. CVSC faculty and staff, headed by Pres. Christie Jean Ganiera and VPAA Dr. Roque Langcoy II, strike a pose with Dir. Nelly L. Esperanza (sitting, center, in yellow) during the completion on the Orientation on the Code of Conduct of Public Officials and Employees and Anti-Sexual Harassment Act held at Cocos Hotel, Compostela last July 22, 2016.
Compostela Valley State College, in its unending pursuit of equipping its workforce with relevant knowledge concerning their occupation, sponsored a one-day seminar on Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, and the Correct Filling-up of Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) last July 22, 2016 at the Cocos Hotel in Compostela, Compostela Valley.
The said event was attended by all the regular employees of the college in all its four campuses in coordination with the Civil Service Commission-Compostela Valley field office.
In order to inform and update the teaching and non-teaching personnel about how they should act as public officials and employees, the seminar commenced with Dir. Nelly L. Esperanza of CSC-ComVal field office laying out the contents of the Republic Act and its repercussions once its contents are violated or neglected.
Next part of the college-initiated activity was the discussion about the contents of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act to ensure that the employees of CVSC, whether consciously or otherwise, avoid transgressing any constituent of this academic institution.
What concluded the seminar was a workshop on how to properly fill in the SALN, an otherwise modest yet often incorrectly supplied requirement of every government employee.
College president Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera then delivered her speech and stressed the importance of the issues discussed in the seminar and expressed that she expects those present to apply what they have learned in the affair.
