THE VP SPEAKS. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Roque Langcoy II discusses some issues concerning the college as the students and other instructors listen.
In lieu of the school’s continued thrust towards providing its students with the best services, Compostela Valley State College conducted a comprehensive General Orientation attended by all the students of the main campus held last July 7, 2016 at the Brgy. Poblacion gymnasium.
The said event, which aims to update the learners about their rights, duties, and responsibilities as stakeholders as well as the most important components of the CVSC powerhouse, gathered all the enrolled students from the three academic departments; namely, College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE), College of Agriculture (COA), and College of Business Education (COBE).
After the opening remarks of Dr. Roque N. Langcoy II, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), the orientation formally commenced with the lecture on the Admission, Retention, and Graduation policy for each college. Furthermore, Dr. Langcoy presented the policies for CASE, while Dean Juanita Leopoldo, MBA discussed for COBE, and Jeson Geroche, representative of Dean Khris June Callano, rendered the discussion for COA.
Meanwhile, college president Dr. Christie Jean Ganiera reminded the students about their accountability in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the school’s facilities and also admonished them about the perpetual importance of respect, a virtue she reiterates that all CVSC students must possess.
The program then progressed to the features of services available for the students presented by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) head, Mr. Joden John Nituda.
Services provided under OSA were also discussed; Scholarship and Student Assistance and Sports and Socio-Cultural Affairs presented by Ms. Gloryjean Colomer, Guidance and Counseling by Ms. Judalyn Foro, Mr. Niño John Olaivar talked about Student Conduct and Discipline, Student Organizations by Ms. Mary Dane Remulta, and lastly, Ms. Jay-ar del Socorro discussed Health Care Services.
A Question and Answer (Q & A) portion concluded the orientation where some important student concerns were given clarifications and explanations.
